Bloomsburg Falls to Slippery Rock in Women's Soccer

BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team ended their 2006 season with a 2-1 loss to Slippery Rock in a Saturday afternoon Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match up at the Sports Stadium.
Ten minutes into the first half, Slippery Rock's Nici Spamer scored off a corner kick from Jaimi Wilson. The Huskies played hard but were unable to score against the Rock's goalkeeper.
With three minutes left in the game, Jaimi Wilson scored to preserve the win for Slippery Rock. The Huskies fought back with a goal by Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy), but it wasn't enough to take the game into overtime. Sarah Fick (Hamburg/Fleetwood Area) led the Huskies with three shots on goal.
For Slippery Rock (11-5-1, 9-2-0 PSAC), Lauren McManus saved four shots, while Bloomsburg's Brittany Moses (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen) saved ten.
The Huskies conclude their season with a 5-9-4 overall record, 4-6-3 in the PSAC.
