Bloomsburg Women's Soccer Ties East Stroudsburg

Box Score

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team tied East Stroudsburg 1-1 on Wednesday night.

Meg Donlon (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) scored the only goal for the Huskies at the 41:22 mark. Donlon kicked a corner kick towards the goal and quickly ran in bounds. After fielding the ball off the body of an East Stroudsburg player, she fired the ricochet past ESU goalkeeper Janice Turico.

In the second half, East Stroudsburg's Kaylin Buckley broke free for what looked like a wide open shot before Robin Gerber (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) stepped in front and made a terrific save. ESU would finally answer at the 80:57 mark when Ashley Becker streaked past the Bloomsburg defense to put an unassisted goal past Gerber.

In the first overtime, sophomore Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy) had the best opportunity for Bloomsburg, when her shot from the outer circle was knocked down at the last minute by Turico.

Lauren Hess (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen) paced the offense for Bloomsburg firing four shots, and Gerber collected eight saves in goal.

The Huskies return to action on Saturday when they travel to Mansfield. Kickoff time is 1:30 p.m.
