Women's Soccer Earns PSAC Playoff Berth

BLOOMSBURG -- Kelsey Stoka (Langhorne/Neshaminy) scored two goals to help the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team earn a 2-2 tie with Kutztown on Tuesday night. The tie allowed the Huskies to clinch a berth in the upcoming Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs.
Kutztown took a 1-0 lead just 7:55 into the game when Kelly Bushe scored off an assist from Diana Hopper on a corner kick. Stoka tied the score in the 19th minute when she took a crossing pass from Ashley Brucker (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren) and hit the back of the net.
Stoka put the Huskies in front 2-1 in the 60th minute of play with a goal from an assist by Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy). The Golden Bears in the 83rd minute when Raven Chiara scored on an assist by Kim Kelty.
The teams played through two overtimes, with Kutztown holding a 2-1 edge in shots, but neither team could score.
Bloomsburg goes to 7-5-3, 5-3-3 in the PSAC East, while Kutztown goes to 9-5-3, 4-5-2 in the PSAC East. The Huskies play at Clarion on Saturday on 1 p.m.
