Huskies Upset Fourth-Ranked Slippery Rock

BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team upset fourth-ranked Slippery Rock University on Saturday by a score of 1-0 at Sports Stadium.

Scoring what would turn out to be the only goal of the game was Eileen Alexander (East Northport, NY/Commack) in the 11th minute of the game. From there, the Bloomsburg defense did a great job limiting the Rock to just seven shots for the game. In goal, Brittany Moses (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen) stopped four shots on the afternoon.

Slippery Rock came into the game as the top-ranked team in the region and ranked fourth in the last National Soccer Coaches Association Division II poll.

Bloomsburg goes to 6-5-1 on the season with the win. The Huskies play next Wednesday at Millersville starting at 5 p.m.
