Bloomsburg University Women's Soccer Ranked
BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team is ranked 18th in the country in Division II according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA).
The Huskies, 12-3 and winners of six straight games, are also ranked second in the NSCAA Division II Atlantic Region poll and sixth in the NCAA Atlantic Regional poll. The top six teams in the NCAA regional rankings at the end of the year will advance to the NCAA championships.
Bloomsburg, which was not ranked nationally prior to this week, jumps into the poll at number 18. The only other PSAC team ranked in the top 20 is West Chester at number nine. West Chester is also ranked first in the Atlantic Region poll.
A solid offense and a strong defense have been keys this season for the Huskies. Offensively the team is having its best since 2004 with 34 goals scored this season and just 14 allowed. Freshman goalie Frances Nicoletti has a goals against average of 0.92 on the year with five shutouts.
The Huskies will host Kutztown on Saturday at 1 p.m.
