Women's Soccer Team Stays Unbeaten in PSAC East

MILLERSVILLE -- The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team defeated the Millersville Marauders, 3-1, on Saturday night to stay unbeaten in the PSAC Eastern Division.

Katie Walczuk (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) scored off an assist from Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy) eight minutes into the first period, giving the Huskies a 1-0 lead. Ali McCrossin (Philadelphia/Little Flower) scored on an assist from Kim Turner (Walnutport/Northampton) shortly after to make it 2-0 in favor of Bloomsburg.

Becky Canderan (Ocean View, NJ/Ocean City) also added to the score with a goal assisted by Walczuk, to give Bloomsburg a comfortable 3-0 lead by the end of the first half.

In the second half, the Marauders scored their only goal when Olivia Taylor scored off an assist by Taylor Suskie at the 79 minute mark.

Goalkeeper Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) had nine saves for Bloomsburg. The Huskies 2-1 on the season, 2-0 in the PSACE East, will play Mansfield at home on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
