Kelly Modes Earns PSAC Women's Soccer Award
BLOOMSBURG--Bloomsburg University women's soccer player Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week for the period ending October 25. It is the second time this season Modes has been named the Player of the Week having earned the honor at the end of September.
Modes scored two goals in a 2-0 week for Bloomsburg, which with the two wins, stayed in good shape to earn a playoff spot out of the East in the upcoming PSAC tournament. Modes scored the second goal of the game in a 2-0 road win over Chestnut Hill. Her score came in the 67th minute and gave the Huskies some breathing room in a tight game that had been 1-0 since the first minute. Then, against Shippensburg on Saturday, Modes scored the first goal of the game at the 24:00 mark as the Huskies picked up a 3-1 win in an important divisional contest.
For the season Modes leads the team with seven goals and three assists. Bloomsburg, 6-7-3 overall, will host East Stroudsburg on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
