Head Coach Dave Rider

Dave Rider

Dave Rider is entering his 15th season as head coach for the Huskies and looks to keep Bloomsburg in the race for Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and NCAA Division II competition.

He has posted a record of 95-54-1 with schedules that have included some of the nation's top teams. Rider has coached 30 individuals to All-American honors and multiple teams to PSAC championships. At last year's PSAC Championships, the Huskies finished fourth with 214 points.

Rider is also the Director of Aquatics, overseeing the operations and scheduling of the university's pool facility.

Rider received his bachelor's degree in Near East archaeology from the University of Chicago in 1968. He was a member of the school's varsity swimming and water polo teams. His physical education certification was awarded in 1973 at Slippery Rock and his Master of Science degree in sports sciences from Indiana (PA).

He is certified by the Red Cross in standard swimming and first aid. In addition, he is a life guard instructor, CPR instructor and water safety instructor.

Rider holds memberships in the American Swimming Coaches Association, National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association, Pennsylvania Swimming Officials Association and is a past president of the Pennsylvania High School Swimming Coaches Association.

Rider is also a member of the Bloomsburg University faculty and serves as the school's compliance officer.
