LANCASTER —Bloomsburg University women's swimmer Ashley Jones set a new meet record in the 200 freestyle event at the Franklin and Marshall Invitational on Sunday. It was the third, first-place finish during the three-day event for Jones.

Jones took first in the 200 free in a time of 1:54.22, breaking the old meet record of 1:55.61 that she set a year ago. In addition, Jones was also part of the 400 free relay team that finished second in 3:39.53. Teaming with Jones were Eileen Garvey, Lindsay Wallace and Erin Carey. Garvey also took third in the 100-back stroke in a time of 1:01.45 for Bloomsburg.

For the men, Steve Fisher was first in the 50 free in a time of 21.57, while Jason Davis was second in the 200-breast stroke in 2:10.82. In addition, Brandon Hilt was third in the 100 back in 54.39. In 400 free relay, the Huskies team of Fisher, Hilt, Davis and Tom DiSalvatore were third in 3:12.15.

The Huskies are idle till next month's Port Orange Invitational.
