Huskies Sweep Bloomsburg Swimming Relays

BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swim team opened the 2006-07 swim season this Saturday as both teams took first place at the Bloomsburg Relays.

The women's team captured six first place finishes, including the 300 backstroke, 800 freestyle,500 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 1500 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay's. They also placed second in the 300 breaststroke, 400 medley relay, 400 medley 4 x 100 individual medley relay's. The women finished first out of eight teams with 588 points, while California University of PA finished second with 534 points.

The men's team captured eight first place finishes including the 200,500,800 and 1500 freestyle relay's. As well as the 300 backstroke and breaststroke relay's, and the 400 Medley Relay and 4 x 100 individual medley relay's. The men also placed second in 300 butterfly, 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle relay's. The men finished first out of three team with 688 points over second place College of Misericordia who finished with 318 points.

The women's team will host Mansfield on October 28th at 1:00 p.m., while the men's team will travel to Edinboro on November 4th for a 2:00 p.m. start.
