Huskies Defeats Mansfield


RESULTS

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University women's swim team opened their dual meet swim season with a 114-69 win over Mansfield University on Saturday.

The Huskies had a strong team showing, with 15 of the Huskies placing in the top three. In the 50-freestyle, Bloomsburg captured all three of the top spots. Courtney Dean (Lancaster/ Hempfield) finished first (26.08), Laura Jeffers (Spring/ Perkiomen Valley) finished second (27.04) and Liz Tesoro ( Doylestown /Central Bucks West) finished third (27.79).

The Huskies also swept the 200-butterfly. Stephanie Boccuti (Doylestown/ Central Bucks East) placed first in a time of 2:21.54, while Amy Usciak (Lancaster/ Hempfield) took second (2:21.58) and Lauren Sterkenberg (Lancaster/ Hempfield) finished third (2:26.79).

Other first place finishers included Jess Gribbin (Richboro/ Council Rock North) in the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:35.94, Ashley Yelinek (Youngwood/ Southmoreland) in the 200-freestyle in a time 2:02.36, Sara Lengler (Harrisburg/ Central Dauphin East) in the 200-individual medley ( 2:20.22), and Dianna Smith (West Grove/ Avon Grove)in the 100-freestyle in a time 55.13.

In relay action, the team of Lengler, Allie Reed (Selinsgrove/ Selinsgrove), Jessica Stusnick (Huntingdon Valley/ Lower Moreland), and Dean finished first in the 200-medley relay.

The Huskies will travel to Ithaca on November 11th for a 1:00 p.m. start.
