Swimmers Fall to Shippensburg


RESULTS

SHIPPENSBURG--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swim teams lost to Shippensburg on Friday. The men lost 157-94, while the women fell 161-101.

For the women, Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) was a three-time winner, while Ashley Yelinek (Youngwood/Southmoreland) was a two-time winner.

Smith took first in the 50-free in 25.01 seconds; the 100-free in 54.46 seconds and the 200-free in 1:57.36. Yelinek was first in the 500-free in 5:22.63 and the 1000-free in 10:53.76.

Allie Reed (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) was second in the 200-free in 1:59.76 and third in the 50-free in 25.95. In addition, Sara Lengler (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin East) took second in the 100-backstroke in 1:02.74.

For the men, Bret Palmer finished second in the 50-free in (Marysville/Susquenita) in a time of 23.02 seconds, while David Mancinelli (Plymouth Meeting/Westmont Hill) was second in the 100-free in 52.10 seconds. Also, Steve Withers (Doylestown/Central Bucks West) was third in the 200-free in 1:52.08, while Mark Freeman was third in the 100-back in 58.94 with Kyle Weisenbach (Avon Grove/Lincoln University) third in the 100-breast in 1:06.19.

Bloomsburg will host Kutztown on Saturday at 1 p.m.
