Bloomsburg Splits with The College of New Jersey

EWING, NJ- The Bloomsburg University swim teams split with the College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on Saturday. The women's team defeated TCNJ 137-125, while the men fell 151-95.

Sara Lengler (Harrisburg/ Central Dauphin East) led the Huskies with first place finishes in both the 100- and 200-backstroke, while Dianna Smith (West Grove/ Avon Grove) and Allie Reed (Selinsgrove/ Selinsgrove) finished 1-2 in the 50-freestyle. Barb Caccia (Laruel Springs, NJ/ Laurel Springs) also picked up a win in the 400-individual medley. The Huskies 400-free relay team of Courtney Dean (Lancaster/ Hempfield), Jackie Gribbin (Richboro/ Council Rock North), Reed and Smith also took first place.

On the men's side the Huskies got second place finishes from Joe Bentz (York/ York Suburban) in the 1650-free, Dereck Fritz (Stevens/ Ephrata) in the 200-free, Greg Williams (Woolrich/ Central Mountain) in the 50-free and 100-back, Steve Withers (Doylestown/ Central Bucks West) in the 50-back, Mike Williams (Huntingdon Valley/ Lower Moreland) in the 100-fly, and Steve Withers (Doylestown/ Central Bucks West) in the 500-free.

Bloomsburg will return to action on December 1st when they race at the University of Akron Invitational.
