Bloomsburg Swimming Falls to West Chester


RESULTS

BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swim teams fell to West Chester on Senior Day. The men lost by a score of 110-84 while the women fell 111-94.

For the women, Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) and Sarah Lengler (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin East) paced the Huskies with two first place finishes each. Smith took top honors in the 200-free in a time of 1:56.77 and also took first in the 100-free (54.05). Lengler’s first place finishes were in the 200-back (2:13.45) and the 200-breaststroke (2:34.71).

Stephanie Boccuti (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) also had a first place finish, swimming a 2:17.98 in the 200-yard butterfly.

For the men, Joe Bentz (York/York Suburban), Mike Williams (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) and Greg Williams (Woolrich/Central Mountain) all took top honors in individual events. Bentz took the 200-butterfly in 2:01.60, Mike Williams finished the 500-free in 5:16.35 while Greg Williams took first in 2:34.71.

In addition, the men's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Bentz, Mike Williams, Mark Freeman (Bethlehem/Freedom) and Bret Palmer (Marysville/Susquenita) took first place in a time of 3:34.14.

Both the men's and women's teams are idle until February 21-24 when they compete in the PSAC Championships held at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
