Bloomsburg Women's Swimming Defeats East Stroudsburg
RESULTS
EAST STROUDSBURG- The Bloomsburg University women's swim team defeated East Stroudsburg by a score of 168-94 on Saturday. Sarah Lengler (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin East) , Allie Reed (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) and Ashley Yelinek (Youngwood/Southmoreland) lead the way with two first place finishes each for the Huskies.
Yelinek picked up a win in the 1,650-free in a time of 18:16.75 and also took first place in the 500-free in 5:26.76. For Reed, she picked up wins in the 100-yard (1:12.75) and the 200-yard (2:35.54) breaststroke. Lengler also had a strong meet, finishing first in both the 100-yard (1:01.58) and 200-yard (2:15.41) backstroke races.
Also picking up first place finishes were Stephanie Boccuti (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) and Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) . Boccuti took first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:18.70, while Smith won the 100-free in 54.20.
In addition, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Reed, Smith, Courtney Dean (Lancaster/Hempfield) and Jackie Gribbin (Richboro/Council Rock North) picked up the win in a time of 3:44.22.
The Huskies (6-1) are idle until February 3rd when they host West Chester at 1:00 p.m. on Senior Day.
