BU Women's Swim Team Ousts East Stroudsburg

The Bloomsburg University women's team defeated East Stroudsburg University, 144-111, on Saturday and improved its record to 5-3.

Ashley Carroll (Mohrsville /Schuylkill Valley) led the way for Huskies two first-place finishes, taking placing first in the 100-back (1:06.36) and 200 back (2:34.17).

In the 200-fly Amy Usciak (Lancaster/Hempfield) placed first in a time of 2:18.14 and in the 200- breast Danielle Wrecsiscs (Coopersburg /Palisades) placed first in a time of 2:34.17.

In the freestyle events, Jess Gribbin (Richboro /Council Rock North) was first in the 1000-free (11:11.74), while Emily Stiles (Lansdale/North Penn) and Rebecca Rosenberg (Newtown/Council Rock) finished second and third, respectively, for a BU sweep of the event.

Sara Hippeli (Quakertown /Quakertown) finished first in the 200-free (2:04.38), with Kelly Ayers (Gilbertsville/Boyertown) finishing second with a time of 2:22.13 and Stiles finished third with a time of 2:23.73. Dianna Smith (West Grove /Avon Grove) took first in the 100-free (55.00).

The Huskies will finish their dual meet season when they travel to West Chester next Saturday for a 1 p.m. meet.
