Day One of PSAC Swimming Championships

MECHANICSBURG--After day one of the 2008 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference swimming championships the Bloomsburg University women's swim team is in fourth place, while the BU men are in third place.

In the only event of the day, the 1000-free, Sara Hippelli (Quakertown/Quakertown) finished seventh on the women's side in a time of 10:44.01, while Emily Stiles (Lansdale/North Penn) was 10th in 10:52.41.

On the men's side, John King (Ridley Park/Ridley) took sixth in a time of 10:00.26, while Joe Bentz (York/York Suburban) was 10th in 10:07.69.

Overall, the Bloomsburg women have totaled 19 points, while the Bloomsburg men have a total of 22 points.

Action continues on Friday in Mechanicsburg at Cumberland Valley High School.
