Women's Swim Team Defeats East Stroudsburg

BLOOMSBURG-The Bloomsburg University women's swim team defeated East Stroudsburg 138-113 on Saturday afternoon.

Sara Hippeli (Quakertown/Quakertown) and Sarah Grawe (Stafford, VA/North Stafford) led the way for Bloomsburg, each with two first place finishes. Hippeli took first in the 1000-free with a time of 11:08.55 and in the 100-fly in 1:03.87, while Grawe finished first in the 50-free with a time of 25.72 and in the 100-back in 1:03.59.

Miranda Steel (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) and had a first and second place finish, taking first in the 500-free in 5:27.60 and second in the 1000-free in a time of 11:10.99. Emily Stiles (Lansdale/North Penn) and Liz Tesoro (Doylestown/Central Bucks West) also had first place finishes for the Huskies, with Stiles taking first in the 200-back in a time of 2:18.73 and Tesoro finishing first in the 200-free in 2:03.05.

Second place finishers for the Huskies were Stacey Henry (Bessemer/Kennedy Catholic) in the 200-back in 2:21.23, Kellie Ayres (Gilbertsville/Boyertown) in the 200-back in 2:35.26, Brittany McNeil (Oxford/Oxford Area) in the 100-back in 1:11.78, Amy Usciak (Lancaster/Hempfield) in the 200-fly in 2:22.09, Brianne Globig (New Kensington/Plum) in the 500-free in 5:29.44, and Danielle Wrecsics (Coopersburg/Palisades) in the 100-fly in 1:05.28.

Bloomsburg will host West Chester on Saturday January 31st at 1:00 p.m.
