Huskies Advance to NCAA Championship Round in Women's Tennis

BLOOMSBURG, PA- The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Division II championship round with a 5-0 win over Slippery Rock in the East Regional final on Saturday morning.

Bloomsburg opened play with a sweep of all three doubles matches. Erin Bartsch and Katie Kochera had an 8-4 victory at first doubles to improve their record to 16-6. At second doubles, Beth Fulton and Miranda Campbell posted an 8-5 victory improving to 10-5 on the year. Rounding out doubles play, Julianne Bramante and Larissa Bench won at number three, 8-0, to improve their record to 9-4.

Moving on to singles play, Bramante got a 6-1, 6-2 victory at number four, improving her record to 22-6 and Fulton won her number three match 6-0, 6-0 to end the match.

Bloomsburg improves to 11-7 with the victory, while Slippery Rock falls to 19-5. The Huskies have advanced to the NCAA championship round May 8-12 in Kansas City.
