Huskies Top California (PA) in Women's Tennis

BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team defeated California (PA) at the Bloomsburg Duals, 7-2. The Huskies improve to 6-4 on the season with the win.

In singles action, the Huskies took five of six matches from California. Iida Hokkanen won 6-2, 6-4 at number one singles. Playing at number three singles, Lindsay Wyckoff won handily over Daniella Zevallos, 6-1, 6-2. Emily Murphy also won at number four singles, 6-1, 6-2. At number five singles, Brande Hansteen made quick work of Gina Pelehac, winning 6-0, 6-2. Jaclyn Kelly was a winner at number six singles for Bloomsburg, taking her match 6-3, 6-1 over California's Sarah Hume.

The number two doubles team of Julianne Bramante and Wyckoff won in convincing fashion, taking their match 8-0. Lauren Colfer and Hansteen also took their number three doubles match, 8-2.

The Huskies return to action tomorrow to take on Queens College at 11:00 a.m. They will also play Bryant College at 3:45 p.m.
