Bloomsburg Tennis Downs East Stroudsburg

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University men and women's tennis teams defeated Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival East Stroudsburg on Tuesday afternoon. The men's team won by a score of 7-2 while the women's team won their match 9-0.

For the men, the Huskies were victorious in two of three double matches played. The team of Dan Gal (South Park/South Park) and Ryan Glubo (Old Bridge, NJ/ Old Bridge) won 8-6 in the number one spot.

In singles action, Gal defeated Jeff Kurz 6-0, 6-0. In the number two spot, Dan Phillips (Colchester, England/East Bergholt) won his match over Kyle Doebler 6-2, 6-0.

For the women, the Huskies won all three of their double matches, and took the win in all six of their single matches. In the number one spot, Katie Hasyn (Lansdale/North Penn) defeated Shana Morris by a score of 6-16-1.

With the win, the men's team improves their record on the year to 6-5, while the women's team improves to 11-1 on the year.

The Bloomsburg men will return to action on Friday when they host the Bloomsburg Duals at 10:00 a.m. (weather permitting). The women return to action on April 10th when they host Kutztown at 3 p.m.
