Track Team at University of Pennsylvania Meet

PHILADELPHIA —The Bloomsburg University track team took part in the University of Pennsylvania meet on Saturday in Philadelphia.

The Huskies' Sarah Bounds (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) was 10th overall and the first runner from Division II in the 5,000-meter race in a time of 18:50.78. Also, Karen Hause (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) was 13th at 5,000-meters in a time of 19:00.32. Both Bounds and Hause also qualify for the PSAC championships with their times. The Huskies' other top finisher in the 5,000 was Ella Daniels (Tunkhannock/Tunkhannock) who was 18th in 19:30.86.

In the women's 800-meters, Cherise Mercer (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) was third overall, and the first runner from Division II, in a time of 2:20.43. In the 1,500-meters, Amanda Pisano (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown) qualified for the PSAC championships and was sixth overall with a time of 4:56.36.

On the men's side, Greg McGhee (Philadelphia/Cheltenham) was second in the 100-meters, beaten only by a Division I runner, in a time of 11 seconds even. In the 200-meters, McGhee was eighth in a time of 22.46. Both his times were good enough to qualify him for the PSAC championships.

Also, Justin Dosch (Sunbury/Shikellamy) ran a personal best time of 2:01 in the 800-meter race and a personal best of 4:09 in the 1,500.

The Huskies are at the Susquehanna Invitational next Saturday.
