Track Athletes Race at NCAA Championships

ABILENE, TX —Bloomsburg University track athletes Cherise Mercer (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) and Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/Middleburg) competed on Friday at the NCAA Division II Track and Field championships in Abilene, TX.

Mercer competed at 800-meters and finished with a time of 2:16.92, but did not advance to the final round. Hackenberg competed in the 5000-meter preliminaries and ran an 18:54.25 and also did not advance to the finals.

This is the first time in many years that the Huskies have sent more than one athlete to the NCAA championships.
