BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country team participated today in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships held at Slippery Rock. The women's team came in eighth place with 190 points and a total team time of 2:06.09. The women's title was won by Edinboro with 31 points and a total team time of 1:57.24. The Bloomsburg men's team finished in 11th place with 295 points and a total team time of 2:30.02. The men's championship was also won by Edinboro with 25 points and a team time of 2:13.55.
The top female runner for the huskies was Jen McNeal (Monroeton/Towanda) who finished in 15th place with a time of 24:16. For finishing in the top 15 at the championships, McNeal will be named to the All-PSAC team. Second for Bloomsburg was Julie Bloom (Lafayette, NY/Tully) who finished 34th in 25:00, while Rachel Keller (New Cumberland/Cedar Cliff) finished 44th with a time of 25:31.
The winner of the female race was Megan Seefeldt of Kutztown who won with a time of 22:56.
For the men, Matt Zappile (Augusta, NJ/Pope John XXIII) was the top runner. He finished with a time of 28:26, which was good enough for 29th place. Chris Turner (Lawrenceville/Williamson) was second for the Huskies and 51st overall with a time of 29:09. Curtis Woodard (Monroeton/Towanda) came in third for the Bloomsburg and 60th overall with a time of 29:28.
The winner of the male race was Jeff Barker of Edinboro with a time of 25:57.
