Bloomsburg to Run at NCAA Regionals

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country team will participate in the NCAA Northeast Regional Cross Country Championships this Saturday at Slippery Rock beginning at 10 a.m.

The Huskies will look to improve on last weekend's performance at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships where both teams finished in 10th place.

The women's team is led by 39-year old phenom Kim Gasper (Hazleton/Bishop Hafey), who has been the Huskies best and most consistent runner this season. Gasper finished a team-best 20th at the PSAC Championships. Her best finishes this season came at the Husky Invitational and the Lock Haven Invitational where she came in fourth place at both events.

Stacey Heberling (Prompton/Honesdale) and Jessica Lightcap (Pottstown/Pottstown) also had strong finishes at the PSAC Championships finishing in 49th and 57th place, respectively.

The men's team is led by Chris Turner (Lawrenceville/Williamson) and Justin Dosch (Sunbury/Shikellamy), who both finished in the top 25 at the PSAC Championships. Turner came in 21st place, while Dosch finished 23rd. The duo have been consistent all season for Bloomsburg. Both runners have four top 25 finishes, with both Turner's and Dosch's top individual performance coming at the Husky Invitational, where Turner came in ninth, while Dosch finished in 10th place.
