Bloomsburg Cross Country Competes at SRU Invitational

SLIPPERY ROCK- The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country team competed at the Slippery Rock University Open Saturday, October 13. The men's team placed sixth out of eight teams with a score of 147. The women's team placed fifth out of five teams with a score of 105. Lock Haven finished first in the men's team competition with a score of 44, while Millersville won the women's with a score of 45.

Sophomore Chris Turner (Lawrenceville/Williamson) led the men's team with a 13th place finish and a time of 36:04. Freshman Justin Dosch (Sunbury/Shikellamy) was second on the team and 32nd overall with a time of 37:29. Dan Mest (Alburtis/Emmaus) placed 39th overall with a time of 38:15.

On the women's side, Bloomsburg was led by senior Kim Gasper (Hazelton/Bishop Hafey), who finished ninth overall in a time of 25:12. Second on the team was Stacy Heberling (Prompton/Honesdale), who placed 24th and had a time of 26:41.
