Kramer Named PSAC Cross Country Runner of the Week
BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University cross country standout Danielle Kramer (Shamokin/Shamokin) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week for the period ending Saturday, Sept. 7th.
Kramer opened the 2002 season with a bang winning the Kutztown Invitational in a time of 23:43 (to win by nine seconds) then followed that up with a 12th place finish at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational. Kramer was the first D-II runner across the line at the predominantly D-I event that featured 237 runners at State College. She covered the 6,000-meter course in 22:43.

Kramer was also a standout on the track for the Huskies this past spring. In her first season at Bloomsburg, Kramer took part in nine regular season indoor and outdoor meets and had eight wins and one second in distances ranging from 1500 to 10,000. At the prestigious Penn Relays in late April, Kramer ran the 10, 000 meter race in a personal-best time of 36:04, the second fastest time in Division II during the season. At the Susquehanna Invitational she set a stadium record at 10,000 meters by winning in a time of 36:49, then set a new meet record at 5,000 meters (17:49) at the Christopher Newport Invitational.
At the PSAC championships, Kramer finished second at 5,000 meters in a time of 17:39, a new personal record. Four times during the season Kramer was also named to the PSAC Honor Roll, while qualifying for the PSAC championships in four events (1500, 3000, 5000 and 10,000). Kramer also qualified NCAA championships in the 10,000 meters and finished 14th.
