Danielle Kramer Wins Kutztown Invitational For BloomsburgBLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University running sensation Danielle Kramer (Shamokin/Shamokin) picked up where she left off in track season by winning the Kutztown University Cross Country Invitational Saturday afternoon. Kramer finished the 6,000 meter course in 23:43 to win by nine seconds over a runner from Division I St. Joseph's University. As a team, Kramer's finish helped the Huskies finish third with a total of 75 points. Also running well for the Huskies were freshman Mary Bacher (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) who was 17th in 26:00, while Lisa Stefursky (Archbald/Valley View) was 20th in 26:22. Amanda Pisano (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown) was 22nd in 26:33, while Stacy Heberling (Prompton/Honesdale) was 245th in 26:42. Rounding the top seven runners for the Huskies were Kathryan Conlon (Inkerman/Pittston Area) in 29th place in a time of 26:47, while Jessica Lightcap (Pottstown/Pottstown) was 32nd in 26:50. For the men, Justin Dosch (Sunbury/Shikellamy) was second over in the 8,000 meter race in a time of 27:16 to help the men's team to a third place finish with 67 points. Curtis Woodard (Sayre/Towanda) was 12th overall in 28:03 with Paul Gardiner (Airville/Kennard Dale) 15th in 28:31. Chris Turner (Lawrenceville/Williamson) was 16th for the Huskies in 28:32, while Michael Espinosa (Media/Penncrest) was 22nd in 29:04 and William Shepardson (McMurray/Peters Township) was 23rd in 29:06. Dan Mest (Alburtis/Emmaus) rounded out the Huskies top seven by finishing 33rd in 29:47. The Huskies visit Penn State for the PSU Invitational next week starting at 10:00 a.m. |
