Bloomsburg Falls in Cross Country

EAST STROUDSBURG — The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country teams lost to East Stroudsburg on Saturday. The men lost by a score of 31-58, while the women lost 46-47.

In the men's race, the Huskies, who rested a lot of their varsity runners, were led by Dan Ezzi (Mechanicsburg/Trinity) who finished third overall in a time of 16:49. Ben Holmes (Waynesboro/Waynesboro) was sixth overall with a time of 16:52, while Tim Marcoe (Lansdale/Lansdale Catholic) finished eighth and Matt Corridoni (Pittston/Pittston) took 16th in times of 16:56 and 17:25, respectively. Jake Stamey (Danville/Danville) rounds out the top five Bloomsburg runners, finishing 24th overall in a time of 17:40.

In the women's race, the Huskies, who also rested their top runners, were led by Anne Stefursky (Archbald/Valley View) who finished fourth overall in a time of 20:32. Toni Zangari (Sunbury/Shikellamy) was second for the Huskies, finishing the course in 20:42 which was good for ninth overall. Julie Williams (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) and Marcie Rumfield (Northampton/Northampton), finished ninth and tenth, in times of 20:45 and 20:57, respectively. Rounding out the top five women runners for Bloomsburg was Hilary Rice (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) who finished the course in 21:09, which was good for 13th overall.

Next up for Bloomsburg's Cross Country teams is the PSAC Championships at Kutztown next Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
