Three Huskies Earn All-Regional Awards at NCAA Cross Country East Regional

Slippery Rock, PA - Bloomsburg University cross country runners Amber Hackenberg (Middleberg/Middleberg), Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin), and Justin Shepherd (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) earned All-Region honors at the NCAA Division II East Regional held at Slippery Rock on Saturday morning.

In team scoring, the Huskies' women's team placed 4th overall out of 31 competing team while the men finished 6th overall out of 29 teams.

The women were lead by Hackenberg who placed eighth overall with a time of 23:39.00, Beth Schwing was the second runner to cross for the Huskies placing 10th overall with a time of 23:43.30. Other contributors for Bloomsburg were Karen Hause (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) and Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) placing 25th and 34th respectively.

On the men's side, Shepherd finished 4th with a time of 32:34.40. The second and third runners for the Huskies were Jimmy Stockley (Elverson /Twin Valley) and Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton Area) coming in 34th and 36th with times of 34:36.45 and 34:42.80.

By placing 4th in the men's race, Shepherd has earned a berth in the Division II National competition on November 18th, in Pensacola, FL. It is Justin second time in his career he will be competing at the NCAA Championship.
