Bloomsburg Cross Country Successful at Buffalo State Invitational

BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country teams had a successful day at the Buffalo State Daniel Walker Invitational, as the women's team took top honors and the men's team finished third.

For the women, the Huskies finished first out of the nine teams that participated in the event. Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton ) took top honors, running the 5k course in 18:27, while teammate Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn) finished in second at 18:54. Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/Middleburg) finished at 19:15, good enough a fourth place finish, while Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin) finished fifth at 19:31. Rounding out the top Husky finishers was Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) who finished in eighth position.

On the men's side, the team finished third out of nine teams, which was good enough for a team award. Mike Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII) placed the highest out of all the Husky runners, finishing the 8k course in 26:19, which was good enough for an eighth place finish. Tim Marcoe (Lansdale/Lansdale Catholic) finished 12th in a time of 26:38, Jimmy Stockley (Elverson/Twin Valley) registered in at 14th position at 26:44 and Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton Area) finished 17th in a time of 26:51. Dan Tallarico (Pittsburgh/North Hills) rounded out the top Husky finishers placing 29th at 27:27.

The Huskies return to action on September 8th when they host the Husky Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m.
