Bloomsburg Cross Country Finishes Strong at Elizabethtown

BLOOMSBURG -- The Bloomsburg University Cross Country teams featured several strong individual performances at the Elizabethtown Invitational on Saturday.

On the women's side, the Huskies top finishers included Amber Hackenberg (Middleberg/Middleberg), who finished second overall out of 115 competitors, logging a race time of 14:55 in the 4K run. Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) was also a top ten finisher, coming in at 9th with a time of 15:17.

On the men's side, the Huskies were paced by Mike Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII), who finished 7th overall out of 125 competitors with a final time of 19:44. Dan Sietsma (Mahwah, NJ/Eastern Christian) had one of his strongest outings of the season, finishing 25th overall and second on the team, running the 6K course in 20:21. Auston Martzall (Myerstown/ELCO) and Josh Dunst (Reading/Exeter Township) also contributed to a strong finish for the Huskies, as both placed in the top 50.

Bloomsburg will send its top nine runners, both men's and women's, to the PSAC Championships next Saturday at Kutztown. The race begins at 10 a.m.
