Husky Runners Hang Tough at Penn State National
BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University Cross Country team, pitted against powerhouse Division I programs such as Kentucky, West Virginia and Syracuse, ran strong at the Penn State National Invitational, placing several runners in the top 150.
The women, who were without two of their top runners, were paced by strong performances from Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn), who finished 81st overall with a time of 22:52. Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin) and Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) also placed in the top 125, with Schwing finishing in 23:21 and Shuck in 24:07.
On the men’s side, the Huskies were buoyed by strong performances from Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazelton Area), who ran the course in 28:09 and finished 103rd; as well as Dan Tallarico (Pittsburgh/North Hills), who finished in 28:47, placing 119th. Also placing in the top 125 were Jimmy Stockley (Elverson/Twin Valley) and Jake Stamey (Danville/Danville), who ran the course in 29:01 and 29:07, respectively. Overall, the women’s team finished 20th and the men’s team 25th.
The Huskies return to action October 20th when they participate in the Elizabethtown College Invitational.
