Bloomsburg Cross Country Team Remains Nationally Ranked
BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University women's cross country team is ranked 18th in the nation last week by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Bloomsburg opened their season by placing first at the Buffalo State Invitational. Angela Borealo (Easton/Easton) placed first in the 5k in a time of 18:27, while Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn) took second in 18:54.
Bloomsburg also took top honors at the Husky Invitational, were the Huskies swept the top five spots. Borealo placed first for the Huskies for the second straight week in a time of 23:05. Beth Schwing (Hershey/Lower Dauphin) placed second in 23:56 with Kellock third just a half second behind. Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/Middleburg) was fourth in 24:12 with Ashley Shuck (Milton/Milton) took fifth in 24:38.
The Huskies also competed in the Lock Haven Invitational were they placed third out of 11 teams, falling only to Division I schools West Virginia University and Kent State.
The Huskies will be back in action Saturday, September 28th at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational.
