Bloomsburg Cross Country Teams Finish Second at Elizabethtown Meet
LANCASTER--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country teams took second place at the Elizabethtown College meet co-hosted by Millersville in Lancaster.
The men's team scored 79 points to finish second to Elizabethtown, while the women scored 83 points to finish second to Elizabethtown. Bloomsburg did not race its full team with the conference championships just a week away.
On the men's side with a total of 113 racers, Misha Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton Area) was ninth overall in 20:56 on the 6k course. Ryan Evans (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) was 13th in 21:04, while Dan Sietsma (Mahwah, NJ/Eastern Christian) was 17th in 21:12. Connor Showalter (Media/Penncrest) was 18th in 21:20 with Dan Downing (Ambler/Wissahickon) 22nd in 21:27. Cory Hardy (Coatesville/Unionville) finished 25th in 21:28, while Kevin Grier (Downingtown/Downingtown West) was 31st in 21:48.
For the women, Samantha Rhood (Downingtown/Downingtown West) was 15th in 16:19 on the 4K course with Caitlin Heller (Bloomsburg/Nixa) 17th in 16:22 and Christa Johnson (Nescopeck/Berwick) 18th in 16:24. Michelle Jansen (Warrington/C.B. South) was 20th in 16:40, Samantha Matthews (Baltimore County, MD/Glenleg County) was 23rd in 16:53, while Justine Kline (Middleburg/Midd-West) was 27th in 17:02 and Katie McShay (Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) 37th in 17:17.
