GETTYSBURG— The Bloomsburg University men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Gettysburg College Invitational Saturday. The men finished 29th of 31 teams, while the women finished 17th of 33 teams.
For the men, freshman Matt Zappile was the top finisher in 101st place in 28:20, while sophomore John Hanlon finished 179th with a time of 30:27. Other finishers for the Huskies were Pete Wadel, 190th in 31:02; Bryan Thomasey 197th in 31:47; and Pete Fisk 217th in 33:34.
For the women, junior Kim Gasper was the top finisher in 44th in 20:08, while sophomore Julie Bloom finished 48th with a time of 20:11. Other finishers for the Huskies were Rachel Keller, 102nd in 20:50; Amanda Edelman 155th in 21:51; Carrie Anne Hiltebeitel 165th in 22:05; and Jen Stone 196th in 22:54.
The Huskies are in action Saturday, Oct. 30, at Kutztown University for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships.
