School District STEM Partners

STEM Education

Students will be immersed in a high-level, intensive academic program which interweaves practical applications and rigorous traditional content.  Students in grades 11-12 will be targeted. Bloomsburg University will offer courses for college credit at a significantly discounted rate to students in grades 11 and 12 through the ACE (Advanced College Experience) program.

Students in their junior year will have the opportunity to focus upon engineering or health sciences in the 2014-15 academic year. In addition, students will be able to utilize electives at their respective high schools to complete an engineering project with a local business in their senior year. Students will be provided with mentors both on Bloomsburg University’s campus (current math and science majors at the university) as well as by local businesses.

During the summers, students will be taken to local businesses for interactive tours as well as hands on learning where appropriate.  Students successfully graduating from this program will be offered admission to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
