A plan in action

Directions and Initiatives for the four key strategic issues identified by SPARC.

Using the four strategic issues and associated goals, SPARC identified specific Action Steps to accomplish those goals. Twelve of the steps, in green, are current Top Priorities for BU.

Although action steps have been identified, the plan is a living and dynamic document where goals and action steps can be changed.

Strategic Plan: Impact 2015

Building on the Past, Leading for the Future

Bloomsburg University's Strategic Planning and Resource Council (SPARC), a committee made up of students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members embarked on a long-range strategic planning process during 2009-10.

Impact 2015: Building on the Past, Leading for the Future began with deep thought and spirited discussion on what lies at the core of Bloomsburg University: our mission, values and vision. Refined with feedback from the campus and the community, the following statements capture the essential qualities that define the university, both today and in the future, centered on preparing students for successful lives in an increasingly complex world.

SPARC is leading the strategic planning efforts with involvement from the entire BU community — faculty, staff, students, alumni and administration — as well as the greater Bloomsburg community will be the hallmark of a successful strategic plan.
