Instructional Media Services (IMS)

BU's Instructional Media Services (IMS), located on the first floor of McCormick Center for Human Services, provides a wide variety of audio and video equipment, facilities and services to students for media projects or productions related to their approved class assignments. These include digital (tapeless) video cameras, digital photography cameras, digital audio recorders, high definition television studios, video editing suites, video conversion, and online media distribution. The IMS staff is available to provide basic tutorials relating to the operation of equipment or facilities students need to complete class projects. We also provided additional equipment and services to BU faculty and staff including laptop computers, data/video projectors, and projection screens. The IMS professional staff offers consultations in evaluation, specification, and purchase of media technologies used in the delivery of instruction.

In addition, IMS creates, acquires, schedules, and distributes daily television programs through BUTV (local cable channel 10). Students who wish to have their original programs aired must submit them to the manager for approval. IMS also serves as technical advisor to WBUQ-FM, the student-operated radio station.
