Mimosa Archive System
Mimosa is the archive software that works in conjunction with Microsoft Outlook.
How Mimosa works
- Every email that comes into your inbox, or email that is sent from you, will be stored automatically in Mimosa. No further setup is required on your part.
- Messages will remain in your regular Outlook inbox and sent items folders (or other custom-created folders) for 2 months. They will also be automatically archived and available in your Mimosa archive folder. They will remain in Mimosa for a period of two years (per our email retention policy).
- Calendar items will remain in your regular Outlook calendar for 1 year. After that timeframe, look in the Mimosa Archive folder for the items.
Due to a January 2011 upgrade to the Mimosa Archive server software, some things have changed. Please check the new changes to the Mimosa Archive client if you are having trouble with the new client and previously used the old client.
Important Setting in Mimosa - Please check settings in your Mimosa Archive to ensure certain items are set which will include better search results.
- Open Mimosa Archive
- Go to Options - User Preferences
- On the "Version History" tab, make sure "Deleted Items" is set to "Display" under the Email section.
- On the "Search & Browse" tab, make sure "Limit Search Period in Quick Search to" is set to "None Specified" and "Show Results Up To" is set to a large number such as 50000.

Need to save messages for longer periods of time?
As mentioned above, email items are archived for a period of two years (per our email retention policy). There are options available should you need to keep items longer:
- Save Outlook messages in other areas of your computer. Directions here.
- Create a personal folder file (.pst) to store locally, copying messages from the mail server. (Note: You will not be able to access the .pst files when using Webmail.) Directions here.
