As a follow-up to the comprehensive institutional print assessment and the recommended next steps we will begin a phased implementation of a new service for the faculty and staff called “Follow-Me Printing”. The university prints nearly 4.8 million pages every year (not including student lab printers).We are looking to reduce this figure to lower the cost and environmental impact. Further, as we begin to consolidate personal printers to shared multi-functional devices (MFDs) we need to maintain the capability for confidential printing.

This new functionality will allow secure printing, upon demand to any output device by swiping your Campus ID card, or logging in with your HuskyID. It will also provide prompts to suggest duplexing, and/or sending to the centralized duplication shop based upon the number of pages being printed.
