Wireless Internet Connections
There is a state-of-the-art 802.11A/G/N wireless network deployed across campus. The two different wireless networks available are bloomu (only for faculty/staff/students) and bloomu-guest (only for guests).
Wireless Locations
Indoor locations:
- All academic buildings
- Most administrative buildings
- All residence halls and campus apartments
Outdoor locations:
- Academic Quad
- Behind the Student Services Center (SSC)
- Between Navy Hall (NH), Haas Center for the Arts (HCA), and Bakeless Center for the Humanities (BCH)
- Between Ben Franklin Hall (BFH) and Hartline Science Center (HSC)
- Between Luzerne Residence Hall (LRH) and Northumberland Residence Hall (NRH)
Wireless Requirements
- A Laptop, Netbook, Smartphone, or other Mobile Device
- 802.11G, 802.11A, or 802.11N WiFi wireless protocol support
- WPA-2 Enterprise security protocol support and PEAP authentication protocol support (bloomu)
- An active Faculty/Staff/Student university account (bloomu) or sponsored guest account (bloomu-guest)

Guest Wireless Instructions (bloomu-guest network)
Temporary guest wireless accounts may be obtained only for those who do not have a university network account. Bloomsburg University faculty or staff must sponsor the guest(s), and may create a help desk request with the following options to request a guest account:
- Problem - Account Security
- Category - Guest Wireless
- Symptom - Create Account
Once you obtain your temporary guest account, connect to the bloomu-guest network and open a web page in your web browser. You will be redirected to a bloomu-guest login page where you must enter your temporary guest account credentials. Once you authenticate, you will be able to browse the Internet.
