BUCC gives concept approval to African Studies minor
The Bloomsburg University Curriculum Committee recommended that the provost give concept approval to a minor in Africana Studies at its meeting on Jan. 23.
The committee also recommended that the provost approve:
- From the department of exceptionality programs, allowing the following courses to be offered as distance education courses: "History, Education and Guidance of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing" #74.201; "Introduction to Instructional Methods for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing" #74.305; "Deaf/Hard of Hearing Technology-Based Observations/Interactions Across the Country" #74.461/561; and "Curricular Subjects for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing" #74.469/569. Also the approval of a new course, "Writing Process in the Classroom" #63.559.
- From the department of economics, changes in Economics BA, Economics track program as well as placing the Business Economics and Political Economics track programs in moratorium.
There were first readings of the policies PRP 3540, "Department of Nursing, Academic Good Standing" and PRP 3990, "Institutional Review Board (IRB) for Human Subjects Research."
There was also considerable discussion on the form used by faculty to issue incomplete grades.
