Haas exhibit features prints of Yoshiko Shimano

Printmaker Yoshiko Shimano is exhibiting her art in the Haas Gallery of the Haas Center for the Arts. The exhibit runs through Saturday, March 29. Admission is free and the exhibit is open to the public free of charge. As a prelude to BU's Women's History Month events in March, Shimano will discuss her printmaking creations during a reception Monday, Feb. 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Her first talk will be presented at 11:15 a.m., followed by another at 1:15 p.m.

Shimano is the printmaking professor at the University of New Mexico whose colorful woodcut prints are exhibited worldwide, including the Skydoor Art Place Aoyama in Tokyo, The University of New Mexico Art Museum, the Fresno Art Museum in California and the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in China.

The Haas Gallery is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. The next exhibit will be the annual Juried Student Art Exhibition by the Student Art Association from April 3 to 24. The gallery will also host the fourth annual Personal Adornment Day fashion show on Wednesday, April 9.
