An anonymous nominator wrote the following letter about the mail services staff:

Mail Services Staff: Brian Sweetra, Janet Fester and Chris Rovito are accommodating, adaptable, efficient and always dependable. The University has had and continues to have obstacles that these particular individuals overcome. With the renovations of buildings, comes the displacement of many staff, faculty and departments in temporary locations. With the construction of new buildings, there have been closures of many roads, one way roads and the numerous construction vehicles and workers thus making campus very congested and confusing and with all this, of course, comes elimination of readily accessible parking. But through all this, twice a day, the outgoing mail continues to reach its destination and new mail reappears with no complaints about how many pieces, how heavy, or how far they need to carry the outgoing mail trays through rain, sleet, snow and even sunshine. These individuals greet you with a friendly good morning or good afternoon and always with a smile.

These individuals, for such a small department, certainly have and continue to exceed expectations, and I feel they deserve this recognition.

Recipients of the STRIVE Award, which is supported by the BU Foundation, receive tickets for the Celebrity Artist Series as well as other donated gifts.

Employees can find nomination forms for STRIVE can be found on the university's network on the "S" drive in the "BU Documents" folder. Questions and nominations can be sent to Kim Schmitz.
