Renovations focus of CGA meeting

Eric Milner, assistant vice president of administration, opened the Monday, Dec. 1, CGA meeting with a presentation about the upcoming construction planned for BU.

Bakeless will be under renovation from December 2008 to January 2010. The project will be done in three phases. Students are reminded that TALE and Spectrum will be moved to McCormick, The Writing Center to the library and the forensics lab to Navy Hall.

Old Hartline will be under renovation from May 2009 to August 2010. While under construction, some classes will be moved into the new section of Hartline, the geosciences and physics department will be moved to the Wilson House, chemistry to Schuylkill, and biology to Old Science Hall. Laubach Drive between Hartline and Ben Franklin will be closed during the renovation process.

Nelson Field House will be renovated in two steps during March 2009 to August 2010. The pool area, gym and new locker room addition will the first step, followed by the renovation of the old locker room area and wrestling room.

Columbia Residence Hall will be under renovation from May to December 2009. Student rooms will be renovated during the summer and a new entrance and common space will be under construction during fall 2009.

CGA Finance Committee members approved funding to BU's chapter of the Sociology Club, not to exceed $247.34. This funding will support one student who recently presented at the Southern Demographic Association meeting in Greenville, S.C.
