Employment at Tutoring Services
Tutoring is a wonderful part-time job and also a great resume builder. As a tutor, you get to help other students and review class material by teaching it to someone else. We also offer very flexible scheduling! You get to pick the hours you are available and we match you with tutees during those times. Please, only put hours on your schedule if you are one hundred percent sure you will be available for this time. It is easier to add more availability to your schedule than it is to cancel a tutee because you are no longer available at a time you previously specified.
Who can work at UTS?
Any student who has an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher can apply to be a tutor here on campus. Students maintaining this GPA can apply to tutor any class that they have taken at Bloomsburg, if they have earned a B letter grade or higher in that class.
What courses do we NEED tutors for?
What courses UTS needs tutors for varies from semester to semester. We are almost always looking for students to tutor classes in the Chemistry and Accounting departments. Please view our Tutors Needed document to see an updated list of courses we need more tutors for. This document is updated as tutees request tutoring in different courses.
How much do tutors get paid?
At UTS we currently pay our undergraduate tutors $7.25 an hour (minimum wage) and our graduate tutors $8.15 an hour.
