Parents' and Family Weekend
Friday, Oct. 25
7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. — University Store Hours. Check out the sale items throughout the weekend!
8 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Sit in on your child’s (or parent’s) classes. Please get the instructor’s permission in advance.
5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. — Registration (KUB Main Lobby). We like to know who’s here. Please stop by and pick up a final schedule and other items, and enter the drawing for University Store gift certificates! Students may register their parents if they wish. Football game tickets may also be purchased at registration.
7 p.m. — Program Board Presents Bingo! Cards are only $.25 each (limit 6 per person) and there will be $400 in cash prizes. There will also be door prizes for parents and complimentary beverages for all. The student organization To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) will be holding a bake sale during Bingo. Please support them!
7 and 9:30 p.m. — Movie: Red 2 (PG-13) (KUB Hideaway). No admission charge for BU students and family members.
7 p.m. to 10 p.m. — Haunted Husky Hollow (Quest Team-building Woods on Upper Campus). Enjoy this annual guided woods walk sponsored by DASL Campus Leadership, Quest and Residence Life. In small groups, participants will be provided with an interactive “Halloween-themed” tour. Student organizations will be offering free small activity tables for kids under 12 to engage in before and after their respective woods tours. Admission is free, but donations are accepted to benefit the Trick or Treat for UNICEF organization. Open parking is available at the Orange Lot and/or Quest Lot for this event.
9 p.m. — Program Board Presents Craig Karges Show (KUB Ballroom). Craig Karges combines the art of magic with the science of psychology and the power of intuition to create the impression that nothing is impossible. Tables float, minds are read, metal bends and your imagination is challenged because you won’t believe your eyes! No admission charge.
Saturday, October 26
10 a.m.—8 p.m. — University Store Hours. Stop in during our extended Parents’ and Family Weekend hours. Look for special sale Items!
10 a.m.—3 p.m. — Quest Open High Adventure Day. Join us for this exciting day on upper campus at the Quest Rock Wall/High Adventure Course. No admission charge for BU students and family members and no prior sign-ups required. Everyone welcome!
10:30 a.m.—11:30 a.m. — Honors Program Refreshments (Honors Center in Luzerne Hall). All honors students and parents welcome.
111 a.m.—2 p.m. — Registration (KUB Main Lobby). Please let us know you’re here. Receive an information packet that includes a final schedule, special mementos and other information about weekend activities. Enter the drawing for gift certificates to the University Store.Football game tickets may also be purchased at registration.
Noon—2 p.m. — Parents’ and Family Weekend Tailgate Barbeque. Stop by the Husky Tailgate Zone behind Redman Stadium on upper campus from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 for the Parents’ and Family Weekend Pre-Game Barbeque. Join BU President Dr. David Soltz and other University administrators before the Huskies take on Cheyney at 2 p.m. The Barbeque will feature pre-game fare including Pulled Pork and Chili for $10.95. Cash, check, and credit cards accepted payable at venue. Reservations are strongly recommended. Please e-mail email@example.com. Walk-ins will be accepted based on availability. 1 p.m. — Field Hockey vs. Millersville (Upper Campus Sports Stadium). No admission charge.
1 p.m.—2:30 p.m. — Registration (Redman Stadium Gate). If you haven’t registered by the time you get to the game, please stop by the registration table.
2 p.m. — The BU Huskies will take on Cheyney for the 2013 Parents’ and Family Weekend Football Game at Danny Hale Field in Redman Stadium. Sit back and relax at half-time for a performance by the Huskies Marching Band and the Parents’ and Family Weekend Committee featuring the winning essay in our Parent(s) of the Day contest. Tickets will be sold at the registration table in the Kehr Union on Friday evening and Saturday morning and also at the gate. Gates will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. All tickets are general admission: Adults $10, Students (including other colleges/universities) $5, Seniors (ages 60 and over) $5, age 5 and under are free, Bloomsburg University students are free with valid I.D.

5:00 p.m. — Women’s Soccer vs. Lock Haven (Upper Campus Sports Stadium). No admission charge.
5 – 8 p.m. — Monty’s Restaurant Night. Campus Dining invites your family to a special Restaurant Night at Monty’s on Upper Campus Saturday, October 26 from 5—8 p.m. Restaurant Night features an all-inclusive dining experience for $15.95, including your choice of appetizer, soup or salad, entrée and dessert. Students can use a cash equivalent meal swipe ($4.85 value) toward their Restaurant Night meal. Menu: Choice of Shrimp Cocktail or Bruschetta Appetizer, Choice of Chopped Salad, Shrimp Bisque or Chicken Noodle Soup. Entrée Choices include: NY Strip Steak, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Chesapeake, Orange Glazed Salmon, Double Cut Pork Chop or Risotto Cake with Spaghetti Squash. 8:00 p.m. — Celebrity Artist Series Presents: Ballroom with a Twist (Mitrani Hall). Take some fantastic professional ballroom dancers, mix in a couple of celebrities from “Dancing with the Stars”, a couple of finalists from “So You Think You Can Dance” and a couple of finalists from “American Idol”; throw them all together on a large stage with some extravagant theatrical lighting, and you get one great show that is sure to knock ‘em dead in the aisles! Tickets are available for sale at the Box Office at Mitrani Hall: Friday until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the show begins. Orders may also be placed by calling 570- 389-4409. Sunday, October 27
Noon Field Hockey — vs. Limestone (Upper Campus Sports Stadium). No admission charge.
10 a.m.—2 p.m. — Regular Brunch (Scranton Commons Dining Rooms). No advance registration is needed. A charge of $7.80 per person will be collected at the door. There is no charge for BU students with meal credit on the meal plan. With no meal credit, the price for students with flex or cash is $6.40.
10:30 a.m. — Protestant Campus Ministry and On-Campus Church Visitation with the B.U. Gospel Choir and Reverend Mar- tin Harris, Sr., Young Adult Pastor at Bethel Deliverance International Church, Philadelphia (KUB Multi A & B). Free breakfast at 10:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m. Praise & Worship, 11:00 a.m. Worship Service.
11 a.m. — Catholic Campus Ministry Sunday Mass (KUB Ballroom). Following mass, enjoy a brunch reception in the Ballroom Lobby for all students and family members.
11 a.m.— 4 p.m. — University Store Hours. Last chance for special sale items!

2:30 p.m. — Chamber Orchestra Concert (St. Matthew Lutheran Church, downtown Bloomsburg). No admission charge. Enjoy works by Mozart, Giuliani, Mendelssohn and more. Guitarists Victoria Hummer and Matthew Leece will be featured.
