Assistant Professor, MAcc Program Coordinator
The Master of Accountancy is designed for individuals who have already completed an undergraduate course of study in accounting and who need to complete graduate coursework to fulfill the AICPA 150 hour requirement for CPA certification. BU's accounting students benefit from personal contact with faculty who possess real-world accounting experience.
M.Acc. Program Details

The program consists of 10 courses (30 graduate credits: 21 Accounting, 3 Finance, and 6 Business Electives credits). Course descriptions are in the graduate catalog.

Review for the CPA examination is incorporated into the course of study.

Classes meet once or twice a week for 15 weeks in spring and fall semesters. Summer session courses are online or hybrid for 6 or 12-week sessions.

Class meetings are on the Bloomsburg campus or online.

Students can choose to take courses on a full- or part-time basis. Full-time students may be able to finish the program in just one year; most part-time students finish within just three years.

Students must comply with Graduate School and the Master of Accountancy program policies and procedures, completing all graduation requirements with an average 3.00/4.00 G.P.A. within six years.

* Applicants need to have earned an undergraduate degree in accounting and/or have completed courses in intermediate accounting, cost accounting, tax, accounting information systems, and audit.
* If the student is a Bloomsburg Accounting major and has at least a 3.0 overall GPA and at least a 3.0 GPA in the accounting classes, the GRE/GMAT will be waived.

Interning at one of the top ranked public accounting and business consulting firms not only served as an impactful learning experience for two Bloomsburg University accounting majors but also prepared them for their journey into BU’s Master of Accountancy program. Adam Zalewski and Kassondra Frew got a firsthand glance into the lives of today’s accountants through their internship with Boyer & Ritter. By inputting trial balances and auditing paper work, they got a preview of their future career aspirations.
