The Master of Accountancy is designed for individuals who have already completed an undergraduate course of study in accounting and who need to complete graduate coursework to fulfill the AICPA 150 hour requirement for CPA certification. BU's accounting students benefit from personal contact with faculty who possess real-world accounting experience.

The program consists of 10 courses (30 graduate credits: 21 Accounting, 3 Finance, and 6 Business Electives credits). Course descriptions are in the graduate catalog. Review for the CPA examination is incorporated into the course of study. Classes meet once or twice a week for 15 weeks in spring and fall semesters. Summer session courses are on-line or hybrid for 6 or 12 week sessions. Class meetings are on the Bloomsburg University campus.

Students can choose to take courses on a full- or part-time basis. Full-time students may be able to finish the program in just one year; most part-time students finish within just three years. Course offerings are rotated between daytime and evenings to accommodate part-time students.

Students must comply with Graduate School and the Master of Accountancy program policies and procedures, completing all graduation requirements with an average 3.00/4.00 G.P.A. within six years.

The Husky Difference

AACSB-accredited schools have the highest quality faculty, relevant and challenging curriculum, and provide educational and career opportunities not found at other schools.
Many top, global corporations only recruit from AACSB-accredited schools. Those grads are offered better, more competitive salaries.
CPA Exam Pass Rate
Our Masters of Accountancy students earned the highest average exam score among CPA exam takers from all graduate school programs in Pennsylvania.
MAcc students intern at Boyer and Ritter Accounting Firm

Internship leads to smooth transition into MAcc program

Interning at one of the top ranked public accounting and business consulting firms not only served as an impactful learning experience for two Bloomsburg University accounting majors but also prepared them for their journey into BU’s Master of Accountancy program. Adam Zalewski and Kassondra Frew got a firsthand glance into the lives of today’s accountants through their internship with Boyer & Ritter. By inputting trial balances and auditing paper work, they got a preview of their future career aspirations.
