Emergent Media
The program will enable students to develop a strong foundation in emerging media, particularly in the areas of new communication technologies, website development and design, and visual communications within a mass communications context. In today's media-centric world employers are looking for individuals with multiple skills in the latest media use and design, media literacy, and web design and development.
The minor consists of 18 semester hours. There are no enrollment requirements (GPA, credits earned, etc.).

- MEDJ 120 Introduction to Emergent Media
Foundation/Skills (9 Credits)
- MEDJ 220 Introduction to Multimedia
- MEDJ 260 Social Media and Podcasting
- MEDJ 280 Introduction to Visual Communications
- MEDJ 320 Applied Multimedia (Pre-requisite MEDJ 220)
Capstone (3 Credits)
- MEDJ 420 Emergent Media Workshop (Pre-requisite MEDJ 220) (Topic changes)
- MEDJ 497 Internship (Pre-requisite MEDJ 220 and either MEDJ 260 or 280)
